The Strathspey Romeo

The Strathspey Romeo (and the Midges)

He's taen her by the berry stained han
An led her ti the lochan stran.
He's set her on his plaidie fine
An covered her with kisses nine.

He's brushed her breesht wi his wanderin han
The silly quine's gaen in a dwam.

Och, little kent yer Guidance Teacherie
Fim she counselled ye on lust an lecherie,
Or showed the Livin 'n Growin video
That ye'd ever meet wi sic a Romeo!

The licht dims doon, the breeze grows still.
Will the Speyside lover wirk his will?
When maiden honour seems aa bit lost,
Behold here comes the flyin host!

Some guard their ladies' honour dear
Wi curses, bolts an sic like gear,
Or terrible moat withoot a bridge.
Here in Strathspey there is the midge.
